Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session before the Executive Council meeting this morning (September 23):
Reporter: Will you meet with the students at Tamar Park?
Chief Executive: We will pay full attention to the views of all sectors of the community. Not just today, but in the past and also in the future. The key thing is all proposals to implement universal suffrage to elect the Chief Executive in 2017 have to be within the framework of the Basic Law and also the relevant decisions of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee because Hong Kong is a law-abiding society and the Basic Law is our mini-constitution, and so all views expressed have to be within the provisions of the Basic Law and the NPC's decisions.
