Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, on the Old Age Living Allowance before attending a luncheon hosted by the Legislative Council President today (November 9):
Reporter: Have you secured enough support for the funding application?
Secretary for Labour and Welfare: We have been working very hard indeed. I have been liaising with all political parties and members with a view to securing their support. In fact, on Wednesday, two days ago, we received 33 questions from the pan-democrats. I have actually spent a lot of time with colleagues drafting full and comprehensive replies and hope this would facilitate discussion this afternoon.
