Kwai Tsing District Road Safety Carnival to be held on Sunday

The following is issued on behalf of Kwai Tsing District Council:

     People are invited to join the free annual event Kwai Tsing District Road Safety Carnival at 2pm on Sunday (February 26) at the Hard-surfaced Soccer Pitch of Kwai Chung Sports Ground.

     The ceremony of the carnival will start at 3.30pm. Apart from performances staged by the Road Ambassador, Kwai Tsing Marching Band and other organisations, there will be a variety of programmes including a bicycle show, a trampoline performance and road safety game booths.

     In addition, members of the public may take a closer look at, and take photos of, antique cars as well as vehicles of the Hong Kong Police Force on display at the carnival.

     The Kwai Tsing District Council Road Safety Working Group is the organiser of this event. Formed in 1988, the Working Group has been playing an active role in enhancing public awareness of road safety and reminding pedestrians and drivers of the importance of road safety and compliance with traffic rules through different kinds of activities.

     Last year, the Working Group organised various activities for residents in the district including the Road Safety Talk, the Kwai Tsing District Little Road Angels Scheme and the Pedestrian Safety Promotion Scheme, which were all well received by the public.
