HKMAO Director continues HK visit (with photos/videos)

     The Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Wang Guangya, had a busy schedule on the last day of his official visit to Hong Kong today (June 14), seeking to gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's latest developments.

     Accompanied by the Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam; the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng; and the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, Mr Wang visited Sky 100 at the International Commerce Centre – the highest indoor observation deck in Hong Kong with a bird's-eye view of Victoria Harbour and various major development projects.

     While at Sky 100, the Secretaries briefed Mr Wang on the overall planning of Hong Kong, including urban development, rock cavern development to increase land supply, the Kai Tak Development, transport infrastructure projects, the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link project, future development of the airport, the West Kowloon Cultural District and other cultural facilities.

     Mr Wang then visited Tin Yan Estate Market in Tin Shui Wai, accompanied by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng; the Permanent Secretary for Food and Health, Mrs Marion Lai; and the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing)/Director of Housing, Mr D W Pescod.  Mr Wang took the opportunity to chat with various stall operators to learn more about their livelihood.  Mr Wang also tried a piece of traditional roasted pork and an egg tart.

     The next stop was Tin Ching Estate in Tin Shui Wai, where Mr Wang was briefed by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng, on public housing facilities.  Mr Wang also visited a public housing unit at Ching Pik House and the offices of Housing Advisory and Service Team to better understand their work.
