The Government announced today (May 28) the closure of part of the footpath of Jordan Road to facilitate the improvement works of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Jordan Station.
A portion of the footpath on Jordan Road near the junction at Nathan Road will be permanently closed and altered from June 29, 2010, for the construction of a new external lift and associated street alteration works.
To facilitate the works, a portion of the footpath on Jordan Road near the junction at Nathan Road will be temporarily closed and altered for a period of 19 months from June 29, 2010.
During the construction period, diversion of pedestrians will be implemented. A temporary footpath at least 1.5 metres wide will be provided.
Two notices on the road closure were published in the Government Gazette today (May 28).
A plan showing the affected area is available for public inspection at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Yau Tsim Mong District Office, at G/F, Mong Kok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok; and at the District Lands Office (Kowloon West) on 10/F, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei.
Any person who wishes to make a claim for compensation should write to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
