At the opening ceremony today (September 22), the Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Mike Rowse, officially welcomed the firm's decision to set up a new office in Hong Kong.
He said, "Hong Kong is known as the hub of legal services in Asia. Our city is home to over 690 local solicitor firms and 34 foreign law firms and about 6,100 professionals. With our rule of law, sophisticated legal system and the large number of business activities and transactions taking place in Hong Kong, we are able to attract a critical mass of firms and professional talent from all around the world."
"The increasing interest of Chinese enterprises to expand and seek listings outside of the Mainland creates a demand for legal services in Hong Kong, the natural springboard for them to go overseas. The addition of Hogan & Hartson to our legal services sector will certainly strengthen our world-class offering to companies in the region. We wish Hogan & Hartson all the best in its future development in Hong Kong, China and the region."
