Employer ordered to pay MPF non-payment

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (August 31) pursued one claim in the Small Claims Tribunal for about $6,000 on behalf of two employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employer.
At today's hearing, the defendant, Henneson Engineering Limited, did not dispute the amount claimed. The Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of $5,852.87, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharge payable.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payment of $260 as cost in respect of the claim.
