CE saddened by fatal traffic accident

The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, was shocked and greatly saddened by the traffic accident on Tuen Mun Road this (July 10) morning. He expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of those who died in this tragic accident.

The Chief Executive knew that the fire services, police, medical and healthcare personnel had spared no efforts in the rescue operation.

Mr Tung also extended his sympathies to those who were injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He has asked the Home Affairs Department, the Social Welfare Department and other departments concerned to render all the necessary assistance to the victims and their families.

He has instructed the Police and the relevant departments to carry out a thorough investigation into the accident.
