DH procures additional seasonal influenza vaccines from vaccine suppliers
*************************************************************************
The Department of Health (DH) today (January 26) said that it has been closely liaising with the Hospital Authority (HA) on the administration and stock of seasonal influenza vaccines under the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP). In response to the latest demand, additional vaccines have been procured from the vaccine suppliers and they are expected to arrive in Hong Kong in early February at the earliest.

Apart from getting vaccinated at public hospitals and general out-patient clinics under the HA, members of the public who are eligible under the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) can get vaccination from the private clinics participating in the Scheme.

On the supply of vaccines in the local private healthcare sector, the DH has been closely in touch with the vaccine suppliers and received confirmation that extra quantities of quadrivalent seasonal influenza vaccines are being dispatched to Hong Kong and could be provided to the local private healthcare sector in early February at the earliest. The DH has also requested that such vaccines be first supplied to private clinics participating in the VSS.

For details on the GVP and the VSS, the public may call the Centre for Health Protection's hotline (2125 2125) or visit the Vaccination Schemes page.
