SFST to visit London

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr James Lau, will depart for London, the United Kingdom (UK), in the early hours on September 19 to take part in the “Hong Kong FinTech Mission to London 2017” co-organised by Cyberport and Hong Kong Monetary Authority, where he will learn more about the latest developments in financial technologies (FinTech) and to promote the role of Hong Kong as a FinTech hub.
 
     Upon arrival in London, Mr Lau will speak at the roundtable discussion organised by City of London to exchange views with participants on blockchain, Belt and Road initiative and trade finance. He will also speak at the dinner hosted by Cyberport for the FinTech community.
 
     On September 20 (London time), Mr Lau will visit Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab London and meet with representatives of FinTech start-ups. He will also meet with members of All-Party Parliamentary Groups on China and FinTech and witness the signing of Hong Kong – UK FinTech Bridge Agreement between the HKSAR Government and the British Government.
 
     Mr Lau will join the Chief Executive on her visit programmes in London between September 20 and 22 (London time) and will return to Hong Kong on September 23. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Joseph Chan, will be Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.
