Policy Address consultation launched (with photos)
**************************************************
The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (July 17) started the consultation work for her first Policy Address by meeting with the Legislative Council members of the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong and the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong. The Chief Executive, the Chief Secretary for Administration and the Financial Secretary will meet the representatives from different sectors and listen to their views.

As announced by the Chief Executive earlier during the question-and-answer session at the Legislative Council, the release of the annual Policy Address will be advanced to October, enabling the Legislative Council members to focus on the scrutiny of the government policy initiatives and work plan for the next year at the start of the legislative year.

"As there are only three months to go, it is hard to conduct a full-scale public consultation exercise for the Policy Address. However, I have promised in my manifesto to implement and review a number of policies in light of the views received from various sectors during the electioneering period. Furthermore, when I was the Chief Executive-elect, I got in touch with various sectors and received a lot of constructive ideas from them. With these as the basis, I will continue to listen to the views of members of the public to formulate policies and establish priorities in different areas for the Policy Address," Mrs Lam said.

Members of the public are invited to give their views by email (policyaddress@ceo.gov.hk), by phone (3655 4343) or by fax (2509 0580).
