STH conducts home visits under "Celebrations for All" project in Eastern District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung today (June 17) visited elderly people in Eastern District under the "Celebrations for All" project.
 
     Accompanied by the Chairman of Eastern District Council, Mr Wong Kin-pan; District Officer (Eastern), Ms Anne Teng; District Social Welfare Officer (Eastern and Wan Chai), Miss Hannah Yip, and representatives of non-governmental organisations, Professor Cheung visited two elderly singletons in Shau Kei Wan to learn about their daily lives. Professor Cheung also gave them gift packs to share the joy of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
 
     The Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Mr Stanley Ying; the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport), Mr Joseph Lai; the Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Yau Shing-mu; the Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Ingrid Yeung; the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Simon Li; the Deputy Director of Marine, Mr Wong Sai-fat; and the Regional Highway Engineer/New Territories of the Highways Department, Mr Aaron Bok, also participated in today's home visits.
 
     The "Celebrations for All" project is one of the major events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. It is co-ordinated by the Home Affairs Department and implemented by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the 18 districts.
