Tenders awarded for two petrol filling station sites

     The Lands Department today (July 27) announced that tenders for two petrol filling stations have been awarded on 21-year land grants at a total premium of $314.625 million.

     Lot No. 981 in Demarcation District No. 226 at Tseng Lan Shue, Sai Kung, New Territories, was awarded to the highest tenderer, Sinopec (Hong Kong) Limited (parent company: Sinopec Marketing Company Limited), at $118 million. Lot No. 2172 in Demarcation District No. 121 at Tong Yan San Tsuen, Yuen Long, New Territories, was awarded to the highest tenderer, ExxonMobil Hong Kong Limited, at $196.625 million.

     The successful tenders were submitted on an individual basis for the purchase of the two sites. These two sites are existing, re-tendered sites for the development of petrol filling stations. Five tenderers took part in the exercise, which produced a total of eight tenders.

     The tenderers other than the successful tenderers that tendered in respect of each lot (individually or as a package) and in alphabetical order, with the name of the parent company where provided by the tenderer in brackets, were:

(a) Lot No. 981 in Demarcation District No. 226

(2) PetroChina International (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited
(3) Shell Hong Kong Limited

(b) Lot No. 2172 in Demarcation District No. 121
(1) PetroChina International (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited
(2) Sinopec (Hong Kong) Limited (Sinopec Marketing Company Limited)
