Culinary incubator for food start-ups expands in Hong Kong (with photos)
***********************************************************

Culinary incubator for food start-ups Kitchen Sync Limited announced today (May 23) that it has opened its food factory in Hong Kong to tap the fast-growing food industry amid the vibrant start-up ecosystem in the city.

Founded in 2013, Kitchen Sync aims to help artisan and start-up food entrepreneurs, as well as emerging chef talents, to launch and grow their own food businesses. It provides an equipped, commercially licensed, shared-use kitchen to food start-ups, minimising the cost of setting up a commercially licensed kitchen in the city, according to Co-founder of Kitchen Sync Ms Lori Granito.

Ms Granito said, "Hong Kong's food industry is thriving and many entrepreneurs are trying to get into the business. From our experience, there is clearly a huge demand for a co-working space in the industry. That's why we have added a new venue in Wong Chuk Hang, which provides a 3,000-square-foot licensed commercial kitchen with state of the art facilities and a 4,000-square-foot rooftop overlooking the South China Sea."

She added, "The new venue will provide not only a working space for young food entrepreneurs, but also a venue space and a captive audience to sell their food. We hope to use Hong Kong as a hub to expand our brand and add value for our member entrepreneurs by creating partnerships with retail stores, supermarkets and wholesale customers."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, "Hong Kong, as one of the world's culinary capitals, provides huge food business opportunities in the industry. With its fast, easy and affordable set up procedure, plus the large number of international and Mainland visitors it receives each year, Hong Kong makes an ideal location for companies in the food sector to set up and scale globally."
