LCSD's Fitness Training Courses for Children open for enrolment
******************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is committed to promoting the Healthy Exercise for All Campaign, including fitness programmes for children. It will hold a series of Fitness Training Courses for Children from July to December in various districts in the territory, with enrolment for some of them commencing today (May 19).

The series is a major part of the Healthy Exercise for All Campaign. The training courses will introduce various forms of physical training and aerobic exercise for children, such as aerobic dance, fitness walking, rope skipping and recreation games. It aims to promote taking the initiative to do exercise on their own and encourage regular workouts. Parents are also encouraged to practise with their children after the training course, and keep records of their training progress and eating habits, so as to cultivate the idea of active exercise in the family and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Each course will consist of eight lessons, and each lesson will last for about one hour and 30 minutes. Children aged 8 to 14 are welcome to enrol. The entry fee is $40 per person. Details are set out in the Annex.

For details, please refer to the monthly community recreation and sports programme leaflets or the Fitness Programmes for Children website www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/healthy/fitness/over5.html#2, or contact the respective District Leisure Services Offices of the LCSD.
