The Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) of the Labour Department (LD) will hold the "Youth Recruitment Day@Youth Employment and Training Programme" at Sha Tin Town Hall on May 19.

The activity is the first large-scale recruitment day organised by the YETP under the special programme "Career Let's go" launched by the LD this year, and aims to enhance training and employment opportunities for young school leavers aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at sub-degree level or below. Employers from various industries including banking, aviation, cultural, photography, retail, catering, tourism and property management will join the recruitment day and offer about 450 on-the-job training vacancies suitable for young people. Participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment.

Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

Furthermore, training bodies will introduce the latest "Tailor-made Training-cum-employment Projects" under the YETP on the recruitment day, including the e-Learning Support Scheme, which provides job opportunities for youngsters who are interested in information technology industry, education or creative multimedia sector. The Labour Department will also set up a counter at the venue to provide information on the YETP and one-month workplace attachment training. Participants can enroll for these programmes on the spot. In addition, career talks will be arranged to brief participants on the nature and career prospects of different industries.
