Commemorative stamp issue: "Centenary of Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade" (with photos)
************************************************************

Hongkong Post announced today (March 30) that a set of commemorative stamps with the theme "Centenary of Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade", with associated philatelic products, will be released for sale on April 14 (Thursday).

Established in 1916, the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade has been serving the community over the past century under its motto of "For the Service of Mankind". The Brigade provides a variety of humanitarian and charitable services for the relief of distress, suffering, sickness and danger without any distinction as to race, class or creed.

Hongkong Post will issue a set of special stamps to commemorate the Brigade's centenary this year. Four key service areas of the Brigade are highlighted in the stamp issue, namely ambulance service, first aid service, dental care for persons with disabilities and those with special needs, and youth service. To add interest to the stamp design, the number "100" is printed in the background of the stamps in iridescent ink.

Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.20 each at all post offices from tomorrow (March 31). The stamps and the associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from tomorrow to April 6.

Information about this special stamp issue and associated philatelic products is available on Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.hk and the Hongkong Post mobile app.
