*********************************************************

     Hongkong Post announced today (February 5) that a set of commemorative stamps entitled "Centenary of Hong Kong Girl Guides" will be released with associated philatelic products for sale on February 22 (Monday).

     The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association is committed to helping local girls and young women to achieve all-round development and empowering them to become responsible global citizens through various training activities. The first Guide Company was established in Hong Kong in 1916. This year, the Hong Kong Girl Guides is celebrating its centenary and Hongkong Post will issue a set of four stamps to commemorate this important milestone.

     Presented in a set of four, these commemorative stamps illustrate the development of the Hong Kong Girl Guides with Guide uniforms from different eras and express the values of the Girl Guides by incorporating badges from the four training areas, namely Service, Character, Fitness and Skill, in the stamp design:

$1.70 - Existing Girl Guide uniform with Service badges;
$2.90 - Brownie uniform from the 1970s with Character badges;
$3.70 - Sea Ranger uniform from the 1940s to the 1970s with Fitness badges; and
$5 - Brownie uniform for the Chinese from the 1920s to the 1930s with Skill badges.

     To add philatelic interest, the souvenir sheet carries perforations in the shape of the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association emblem.

     Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.20 each at all post offices from tomorrow (February 6). The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from tomorrow to February 15.

     Information about these special stamp issues and associated philatelic products is available on Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.hk and via the Hongkong Post Mobile App.
