Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, at a media session after attending the Belt and Road International Forum 2016 today (January 29):
Reporter: Mr Yang, can you briefly explain the appointment of the ITB?
Secretary for Innovation and Technology: Today we announced the appointment of the Under Secretary and Political Assistant of the Innovation and Technology Bureau. Dr David Chung will be the Under Secretary of the Innovation and Technology Bureau and Ms Sandra Leung will be the Political Assistant of the bureau. I'm very happy that even given the challenging environment, the conditions of Hong Kong today, that they are willing to give up their current job and join the bureau and then join my team to help Hong Kong improve the conditions and also the environment for innovation and technology and to help Hong Kong grow economically and also to help Hong Kong young entrepreneurs have a better chance to realise their dreams.
Reporter: Are you referring the challenging environment to the filibustering in the LegCo?
Secretary for Innovation and Technology: When I said "challenging", I meant, and I explained it in Chinese, both political, economic and social environment.
