Education Bureau to hold first ever student fair on science, technology and mathematics

     The Education Bureau will hold the first Student Education Fair on Science, Technology and Mathematics on January 22 and 23, partnering with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Members of the public are welcome to attend the event at the Hong Kong Science Park.

     Themed "Promotion of STEM Education - Unleashing Potential in Innovation", the Fair aims to showcase a wide range of student achievements in areas related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

     Exhibition booths will be set up by 80 local primary and secondary schools on various STEM-related themes, including innovative invention, robotics, environmental protection, coding, mathematics and technology, and sustainable development. More than 10 tertiary institutions and professional bodies will also provide information on STEM education.

     The Fair will also feature biotechnology workshops, astronomy programmes, guided tours, talks and sharing sessions. Participants can also take part in STEM activities such as making robots and experiments in bacterial DNA extraction. There will also be information on further studies and career opportunities in STEM-related fields.

     The Student Education Fair on Science, Technology and Mathematics 2016 will be held from 10am to 5pm at the Grand Hall, Convention Centre 3, Hong Kong Science Park, Sha Tin. Programme details are available at the event website (www.educationfair.hk).
