Additional screening and DVD sale of "Colourful Youth" in "Restored Treasures: HKFA 15th Anniversary Presentation" (with photos)
**********************************************************

"Restored Treasures: HKFA 15th Anniversary Presentation", organised by the Hong Kong Film Archive (HKFA) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will have an additional screening for "Colourful Youth" (1966) on February 10 at 7.30pm at the HKFA Cinema as tickets of the first screening have sold out. The newly restored "Colourful Youth" will also be available for sale as a two-DVD box set from January 31 at the HKFA.

Co-starring Connie Chan Po-chu and Josephine Siao Fong-fong, "Colourful Youth" was shot in Eastmancolor. It features choreographed musical scenes and the trendiest fashions of the time, with several interlude songs that became household tunes. The film was sent to the L'Immagine Ritrovata film restoration laboratory in Italy for improving the image and audio quality. With help from film fans overseas, the HKFA obtained a longer version of this film two years ago and took extra efforts in restoring 22 minutes of new-found footage for the newly restored version. "Colourful Youth" is in Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles.

The "Colourful Youth" two-DVD box set is priced at $160. Tickets for the additional screening priced at $50 will be available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk) tomorrow (January 11). For credit card telephone bookings, please call 2111 5999. For programme enquiries, please call 2739 2139 or 2734 2900 or visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/fp/en_US/web/fpo/programmes/2011rt3/film.html .
