Seminar on Territory-wide System Assessment for parents
*******************************************************

The Education Bureau (EDB) is currently reviewing the implementation of the Territory-wide System Assessment (TSA). In addition to the five regional seminars inviting parents to attend through primary schools in 18 districts, the EDB will hold a seminar open to other parents to introduce the TSA to them and collect their views. Details are as follows:

Date: January 19, 2016 (Tuesday)
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre, 4/F, West Block, EDB Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre, 19 Suffolk Road, Kowloon Tong
Language: Cantonese (with simultaneous interpretation in Putonghua, English, Urdu, Hindi and Nepali)

Those who would like to attend the seminar may reserve seats by submitting an enrolment form via fax to 2530 4451 or email to asteam@edb.gov.hk at or before noon on January 12, 2016. The enrolment form can be downloaded at the EDB's website (www.edb.gov.hk/en/news/student-parents.html). Limited seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The TSA is designed to gauge students' attainment of basic competency at the end of Primary 3, Primary 6 and Secondary 3 levels. It aims to help schools understand students' performance in attaining basic competency, and their strengths and weaknesses, in the three core subjects at various key learning stages. Individual schools can make use of the school level report to devise suitable curriculum plans as well as learning and teaching strategies to facilitate students' attainment of basic competency for effective learning at the next key learning stage, in order to enhance learning effectiveness.
