The Lands Department issued a Supplemental Information Statement today (November 25) to inform prospective purchasers of Tai Po Town Lot No. 221 at Shan Tong Road, Lai Chi Shan, Tai Po, New Territories, of an application for leave to apply for judicial review (HCAL 221 of 2015) which was lodged on November 18, 2015 in respect of the decision of the Chief Executive-in-Council in approving the draft Tai Po Outline Zoning Plan No. S/TP/25A. It is noted that one of the reliefs sought by the applicant of HCAL 221 of 2015 is an order of interim injunction restraining the Director of Lands from awarding tender for the lot pending the determination of HCAL 221 of 2015 and HCAL 67 of 2015.
"In view of the latest developments, the closing date for the tender of the lot will be deferred from November 27, 2015 to February 5, 2016. This extension of the tender period will allow more time for prospective purchasers to consider the tender having regard to the latest developments," a spokesman for the Lands Department said. A notice to this effect will be published in the Government Gazette on November 26, 2015.
The Supplemental Information Statement is available for distribution to the public and was uploaded to the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) today.
When inviting tenders for the lot on October 16, 2015, the department informed prospective purchasers that leave to apply for judicial review (HCAL 67 of 2015) against the decision of the Town Planning Board regarding the rezoning of "Green Belt" under the draft Tai Po Outline Zoning Plan No. S/TP/25 covering the lot and other sites had been granted by the Court on October 14, 2015.
