Special traffic and transport arrangements for Ta Chiu Celebration and Procession in Kam Tin and Yuen Long tomorrow

     The Transport Department (TD) today (November 23) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Kam Tin and Yuen Long tomorrow (November 24) to facilitate the holding of the Kam Tin Ten Years Ta Chiu Celebration and Procession Parade.

     The Parade will depart from Shui Tau Tsuen at about 10.30am tomorrow. It will take the route via Chi Ho Road, Kam Hing Road, Kam Tai Road, Siu Sheung Road, Long Wo Road, Long Yat Road, Yuen Long Kau Hui Road, Cheung Shing Street, Wang Yip Street East, Wang Yip Street South, Tai Kiu Road, Yuen Long On Ning Road, Tung Lok Street, Sau Fu Street, Fook Tak Street, Yuen Long On Ning Road, Sai Tai Street, Yuen Long Tai Cheung Street and Long Yat Road, and return to Shui Tau Tsuen to end.
 
     Intermittent roads closures for traffic control may be implemented along the route during the Parade.

     A total of eight green minibus (GMB) routes which terminate at Fook Hong Street GMB Terminus or operate in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted. Temporary GMB stops will be provided on Yuen Long On Lok Road westbound near Tai Kiu Tsuen Bus Stop, Kiu Lok Square and Yuen Long (East) Public Transport Interchange (near West Rail Yuen Long Station). The public transport operators concerned have displayed notices to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.

     Motorists should avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and take heed of directions of the Police in the affected areas.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on TV and radio.
