The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has appointed a new chief representative in London. On October 19, Ms Priscilla To became the new Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London, replacing the outgoing Director-General, Ms Erica Ng.
Ms To joined the Hong Kong Administrative Service in 1995. She has served in various bureaux and departments in her career, including the former Industry Department, the Correctional Services Department, the former Health and Welfare Branch, the former Information Technology and Broadcasting Bureau, the former Environment and Food Bureau, the former Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau and the Education Bureau. She was most recently Principal Assistant Secretary in the Civil Service Bureau.
As the chief representative of the HKSAR Government in London, Ms To plays a key role in promoting bilateral relations between the UK and Hong Kong. Ms To also represents Hong Kong in the eight other countries that the London office is responsible for, namely Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Russia and Sweden.
Ms To said, "I am very honoured and excited to take up this new role, representing the HKSAR Government here. I look forward to helping to consolidate and further strengthen our long-standing economic, business and cultural ties with the countries under our purview."
