Australian Chamber Orchestra and Sydney Dance Company to stage "Illuminated" shows
*********************************************************

A triple-bill modern dance programme, "Illuminated", jointly performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney Dance Company, will be staged in Hong Kong this November.

The three modern dance pieces to be featured are "Variation 10", "Les Illuminations" and "Project Rameau", bringing together three captivating visions of dance and embodying the passion of choreographer Rafael Bonachela.

"Variation 10" and "Les Illuminations" will be danced to the music of Benjamin Britten - "Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge" and "Les Illuminations" respectively - in a tribute to the British composer. In the song cycle "Les Illuminations", soprano Katie Noonan will perform the solo part.

"Project Rameau" features Jean-Philippe Rameau's dazzling Baroque ballet and opera music. Fusing vibrant Baroque music with beautiful contemporary dance, the piece in its premiere season played to packed houses and critical acclaim. Costume design is by Helpmann Award winner Toni Maticevski.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Illuminated" will be staged at 8pm on November 13 and 14 (Friday and Saturday) at the Auditorium of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets priced at $200, $300, $400 and $480 are now available at URBTIX.
