"ACO Underground" will offer audiences an evening of crossover music performed by members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra on acoustic and electric instruments at PMQ, Central in November.
Violinist Satu Vänskä of the Australian Chamber Orchestra is also the founder and curator of "ACO Underground". Apart from playing violin, she will also sing in the concert. Nine members of the ACO will perform various types of music from classical to modern and jazz to rock, and from Bach and Penderecki to the Nine Inch Nails. Soprano Katie Noonan will also join the performance. "ACO Underground" has been described by the Sydney Morning Herald as "quietly thrilling", thanks to its "shifting formations of strings and samples, on-stage looping vocals and acoustic guitars, electric guitars and laptops". This eclectic programme sprints through centuries of music during which the expected and unexpected collide in a unique world of sound.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "ACO Underground" will be staged at 8.30pm on November 12 (Thursday) at the Qube, PMQ, Aberdeen Street, Central. Tickets are priced at $320 (including a drink) with free seating.

Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 and above, people with disabilities and the minder, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis).
