The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) spokesperson announced today (October 9) that a promotion drive, "OctoSurprise x Prize¡PDonor Centres Proudly Presents: Double-week Commemorative Souvenirs", will be launched in two consecutive weeks from October 12 to 25, to encourage blood donors to save more lives.
BTS donor centres will give out different commemorative limited-issue souvenirs during specific periods to call on donors to give blood together with their friends.
Promotion in the first week (October 12-18): Mong Kok, King's Park Headquarters, Causeway Bay, Sha Tin and Yuen Long.
Promotion in the second week (October 19-25): Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong and Central District.
The spokesman appealed to the public to grab this golden opportunity to discover and unlock the value of the limited-issue souvenirs.
A poster on this promotion drive is enclosed and uploaded to the Facebook page "Blood for Life" (www.facebook.com/BloodForLifeHKRCBTS) for wider publicity.
The recent unstable weather and the sharp increase in the number of people travelling abroad during the holidays have reduced blood collection. BTS needs to recruit 1,100 heroes daily to ensure a constant supply of blood of different types. Be a blood donation hero. All you need is a willing heart!
