The Wan Chai District Office and Wan Chai Youth Ambassadors co-organised the "Wan Chai District Clean Hong Kong Campaign - Cleaning 'three-nil' buildings" activity to improve environmental hygiene of the common areas of the "three-nil" buildings in the district and promote the message of keeping buildings and environment clean.

The Under Secretary for Development, Mr Eric Ma; the District Officer (Wan Chai), Miss Angela Luk; the Chairman of the Wan Chai District Council (WCDC), Mr Suen Kai-cheong; the Chairman of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Committee (FEHC) of WCDC, Ms Jacqueline Chung; the Vice Chairman of the FEHC of WCDC, Mr Cheng Ki-kin; and the Chairman of Wan Chai Youth Ambassadors, Dr Chow Kam-wai, and other guests officiated at the kick-off ceremony today (September 27) under the Canal Road flyover.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ma said, "Hong Kong is our home and every citizen should share the responsibility for keeping the city clean. I encourage members of the public to participate in and support the campaign to keep the environment clean and make it an integral part of our lifestyle."

After the ceremony, the officiating guests, WCDC members and youth volunteers took part in the cleaning of "three-nil" buildings on Yiu Wa Street in a bid to improve the hygiene of the common areas of these buildings and encourage residents to work together for a cleaner community.

The activity, sponsored by the WCDC, aims to clean the common areas of around 60 "three-nil" buildings, covering some 700 household units.
