********************************************************

The Wan Chai District Office (WCDO) and the Wan Chai District Council (WCDC) today (September 13) distributed cleaning packs to the public in Causeway Bay to raise awareness of observing good personal and environmental hygiene in the community.

The Under Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan; the District Officer (Wan Chai), Miss Angela Luk; the Chairman of Food & Environmental Hygiene Committee of WCDC, Ms Jacqueline Chung; and Wan Chai District Councillor, Ms Yolanda Ng distributed cleansing packs on Gloucester Road, Great George Street and Paterson Street to enhance public awareness of the importance of personal, household and environmental hygiene.

To echo the "Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign, the WCDO and the WCDC have worked hand in hand and organised a series of activities since early August, including an open-top bus parade. The WCDO will continue to promote the Campaign and distribute cleaning packs to owners' corporations, mutual aid committees, owners' committees and residents of "three-nil" buildings and appeal to them to strengthen the cleaning of the common areas of their buildings.

In addition, the "Wan Chai District Clean Hong Kong Campaign - Cleaning 'three-nil' buildings" activity, which is co-organised by the WCDO and Wan Chai Youth Ambassadors and sponsored by the WCDC, will be launched later this month, during which the common areas of approximately 60 "three-nil" buildings, covering around 700 household units, will be cleaned.
