LCSD responds to Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Revitalisation Plan
*********************************************************

In response to media enquiries on Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Revitalisation Plan (the Plan), a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) said today (September 2) that LCSD and the New World Development Company Limited (NWD) once again consulted the Harbourfront Commission's Task Force on Harbourfront Developments in Kowloon, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing on the Plan yesterday. At the meeting, the Task Force expressed various views on the implementation of the Plan, including the design of the facilities and the future management plan. It also proposed further stepping up public consultation and engagement to enhance the Plan. Regarding the Task Force's recommendations, LCSD will submit a public engagement work plan as soon as possible so as to better engage the public
in the design and operation of the promenade. LCSD will consult the Task Force's views further.

LCSD and NWD also reported the project works plan at the meeting yesterday. The Avenue of Stars currently under the management by NWD is intended to be closed for repairs and improvement works in early October. The exhibits there will be moved to the Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront Podium Garden for continued display. As regards the works concerning Tsim Sha Tsui East promenade and Salisbury Garden, LCSD will continue to take into account relevant views to further enhance the design proposal. The plan is to consult the Task Force again before commencing works in the first quarter of 2016.

Regarding the signing of a new management entrustment deed, LCSD will continue to discuss with NWD and take into account public views on the future management plan. Specific details are subject to confirmation.
