"Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home" - Sham Shui Po District Clean Hong Kong Campaign Kick-off Ceremony cum Bus Parade (with photos)

     The Sham Shui Po District Office (SSPDO) today (August 10) held the Sham Shui Po District Clean Hong Kong Campaign Kick-off Ceremony cum Bus Parade to enhance public awareness on hygiene to tie in with the "Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign.

     Officiating guests at the ceremony included the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung; the District Officer (Sham Shui Po), Mr Benjamin Mok; the District Environmental Hygiene Superintendent (Sham Shui Po) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Mr Lai Kah-kit; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po District Council (SSPDC), Mr Jimmy Kwok; and the Chairman of the Environment and Hygiene Committee under the SSPDC, Mr Chan Keng-chau.

     After the ceremony, the officiating guests and the SSPDC members took part in the bus parade and visited various locations in the district, including Cheung Sha Wan Community Centre, Po On Road Market, Mei Foo Sun Chuen, Apliu Street and Nam Shan Estate. Cleaning packs were distributed to residents to encourage them to nurture a habit of good hygiene practices.

     To spread the message of keeping Hong Kong clean to every corner of the district, the SSPDO will organise a number of public education and publicity events, including seminars on environmental hygiene and school cleaning activities from mid-August to September. The SSPDO will also arrange contractors to clean the common areas of some "three-nil" buildings with less satisfactory environmental hygiene conditions in the district.
