     The Hong Kong Police Force organised the Police Recruitment Day 2015 (Summer) at Police Headquarters today (July 25), recruiting the posts of Inspector, Police Constable and Police Constable (Auxiliary). More than 2,100 applications were received.

     The Force has been adopting a proactive recruitment strategy to attract high calibre candidates who possess the required competencies as a police officer. A series of recruitment campaigns, such as Recruitment Day, are launched on an annual basis to reach out to potential candidates. Recruitment Day provided one-stop service to applicants, including initial screening and scheduling of written examination for Inspector candidates; initial screening and group interview completed on the day for Police Constable candidates; and initial screening and a seminar for Police Constable (Auxiliary) candidates.

     Upon completion of the selection process, successful Inspector and Police Constable applicants will undergo foundation training at Police College, while successful Police Constable (Auxiliary) applicants will undergo foundation training at Auxiliary Police Headquarters.

     Besides, commencing in October, the revised physical fitness test for Police recruitment, comprising vertical jump, handgrip strength test, 800-metre run and 4 x 10-metre shuttle-run will be rolled out on a pilot basis. Police Recruitment Division officers showed videos of revised physical fitness test demonstration on site.  They also introduced the passing standards to applicants who were given a chance to conduct the handgrip test.

     For the financial year 2015/16, the Force aims to recruit 1,510 Police officers, including 190 Inspectors and 1,320 Police Constables. The Recruitment activities are in progress. The Winter Recruitment Day has already been scheduled on November 28.
