SCED speaks on WEF's Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report
************************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, on the World Economic Forum's Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015 after the seminar on Sichuan-Hong Kong co-operation opportunities today (May 7):

Reporter: There is a recent report from the World Economic Forum on tourism. What areas do you think need to improve for Hong Kong to compete with our neighbours?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I think the report is quite comprehensive. The World Economic Forum report looks at many factors and Hong Kong ranks 13 among 141 countries and districts, and that's really indicative of the attractiveness of Hong Kong as a tourist destination. And we will have to work even harder to enhance our competitiveness and attractiveness to our tourists. As you can see in the report, we have a lot of advantages over other districts. And we will strengthen those areas when we are ranked with a lesser ranking and we will work harder in those areas. Comprehensively, in the total picture, we are faring quite well, ranked 13 overall among 141 districts.
