Special traffic arrangements for marathon in Central

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate the holding of a marathon event in Central this Sunday (March 1).
 
     The general pick-up/drop-off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Car Park will be closed from 2am to 5pm.
 
     The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 6am to 2.15pm:
 
A. Road closure
 
- Edinburgh Place east and north of City Hall (except for vehicles leaving from City Hall car park);
- Westbound Lung Wo Road (except the slow lane of westbound Lung Wo Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place);
- The slow lane of eastbound Lung Wui Road between Legislative Council Road and Lung Wo Road; and
- Legislative Council Road (except for vehicles entering or leaving from Legislative Council Complex).
 
B. Traffic diversion
 
- Traffic along northbound Edinburgh Place east of City Hall cannot enter Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along northbound Legislative Council Road and eastbound Lung Wui Road cannot turn left to westbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along westbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road; and
- Traffic along eastbound Lung Wo Road cannot turn right to westbound Lung Wo Road, Edinburgh Place and Tim Wa Avenue.
 
C. Suspension of parking spaces
 
     Parking spaces at the general pick-up/drop-off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Car Park will be suspended from 2am to 5pm.
 
     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior notice.
 
     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
