The International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/Technical Committee (TC) 176 (ISO/TC 176) Plenary Meeting will be held in Hong Kong in November 2015.
It will be the first time that Hong Kong hosts this international meeting on quality management and quality assurance. Technical experts from more than 100 economies are expected to attend. The Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will be the host of the meeting.
¡§Hong Kong keenly supports the work of the ISO. We will proceed with preparations for the meeting in the coming months and look forward to support and advice from the industry and all stakeholders,ÈĐa spokesman for the Innovation and Technology Commission said.
ISO/TC 176 creates and manages standards in the field of quality management and quality assurance. It is responsible for the ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Standard, one of the most widely used ISO standards around the world and in Hong Kong. The Standard is currently under revision, and is expected to be published in September 2015.
The ISO is an independent, non-governmental organisation and the world's largest developer of voluntary international standards. Hong Kong has been involved in the work of the ISO since 1968.
