Twenty-two building plans approved in October

     The Buildings Department approved 22 building plans in October, with 10 on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 11 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, six were for commercial developments and five were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 14 building projects that, when completed, will provide 218 431 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2 718 units, and 31 764 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.

     The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 11 350 sq m, involving 109 units, and 201 057 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in October totalled about $4.1 billion.

     In addition, seven demolition consents involving four building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 556 reports about unauthorised building works in October, and issued 501 removal orders on unauthorised works.
