SCED to attend Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in Vietnam

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, tomorrow (November 20) to attend the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business to be held from November 20 to 22.

     The Conference is organised by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam, together with the German Chamber of Commerce, the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. With a theme of "Understanding Trends and Perspectives", the focus this year will be on industries and trends of the future in which co-operation between businesses in Germany and the Asia-Pacific region can thrive.

     On the margins of the Conference, Mr So will meet with the Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Mr Sigmar Gabriel, as well as representatives of the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam. He will also officiate at the signing ceremony and dinner of the Agreement of Co-operation between the Hong Kong-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

     Mr So will return to Hong Kong on November 23 (Sunday). The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
