SED arrives in Switzerland to continue duty visit (with photos)

     Leading a Hong Kong education delegation, the Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, arrived in Bern, Switzerland, yesterday (November 6, Bern time) to continue his duty visit, during which he hopes to look into Switzerland's vocational education system and good practices in promoting young persons' career development.

     The delegates first called on the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training to learn more about its work in promoting research and development, developing vocational education and training programmes and fostering international collaboration.

     They then visited telecom enterprise Swisscom AG to learn about its apprenticeship programme and exchange views with its apprentices in order to deepen understanding of vocational education in Switzerland.

     The delegates will next make their final stop in Zurich, where they will meet with professors at the Zurich University of the Arts. They will then visit the KV Zurich Business School as well as an electronics and high-tech enterprise.
