Special traffic and transport arrangements for Wine and Dine Festival at Kai Tak Development Site

     The Transport Department (TD) today (October 29) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Kowloon to facilitate the Wine and Dine Festival at the open space outside Kai Tak Cruise Terminal from tomorrow (October 30) to Sunday (November 2).

     The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

Special Transport Arrangements
------------------------------

* Free shuttle bus services to and from the venue will be provided at Kowloon Tong (Suffolk Road) Public Transport Interchange and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Forecourt, and will be operated with five to seven minute headways.

* Special bus service KMB Route No. 215R (Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to Lam Tin Station (Circular)) (free of charge to spectators) will be operated at five to 15 minutes headways.

* The service of existing KMB Route No. 5R (Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to Ngau Tau Kok Station (Circular)) and Kowloon GMB Route No. 86 (Cruise Terminal to Kowloon Bay (Telford Gardens) (Circular)) will be strengthened according to passenger demand during the above period.

Special Traffic Arrangements

     A private car/taxi drop off point will be temporarily designated at the lay-by on the eastern kerbside of Shing Fung Road (Kai Tak Cruise Terminal bound) outside the venue at the times specified below:

* 4pm to 11.30 pm on October 30;
* 4pm to 11.30 pm on October 31;
* noon to 11.30 pm on November 1; and
* noon to 10.30 pm on November 2.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
