Special stamp issue: "Christmas Stamps III" (with photos)
*********************************************************

Hongkong Post today (October 20) announced that a set of special stamps, "Christmas Stamps III", will be released for sale with associated philatelic products on November 4 (Tuesday).

"Christmas Stamps III" is the third issue of Christmas stamps following the well-received issues in 2002 and 2007. This set of stamps creatively blends scenes of local life into well-known Christmas settings to share festive sentiments. The four distinctive stamps, depicting Santa Claus, a reindeer, a snowman and an angel, blend in local elements like a junk, the golden bauhinia sculpture in Wan Chai, dim sum and the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Hongkong Post is also issuing a self-adhesive souvenir sheet and a set of four self-adhesive stamp sheetlets. The stamp sheetlets feature Lion Rock ($1.70), a Chinese knot ($2.90), panda snowmen ($3.70) and a Hong Kong Film Awards statuette ($5) to highlight a Christmas with unique Hong Kong characteristics.

Two Heartwarming Stamps (2014 Version) "Christmas Stamps III" Mini-panes, which feature the respective designs of the $1.70 and $3.70 mint stamps in the "Christmas Stamps III" special stamp issue, will also be released for sale at all philatelic offices from November 4.

Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.20 each at all post offices from tomorrow (October 21). The stamps and the associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from tomorrow to October 27.

Information about this special stamp issue and associated philatelic products is available from Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.hk and the Hongkong Post Mobile App.
