A cappella theatre production "Our Immortal Cantata" to be staged in late October (with photo)
***********************************************************

Local performing arts group the Yat Po Singers, together with composer Leon Ko and lyricist Chris Shum, will present a fun and inspiring a cappella theatre production in late October with "Our Immortal Cantata", which asks if it is worth dying for love.

Mixing wit and whims with passion and intrigue, the production features tragically romantic characters such as the well-known Romeo and Juliet as well as Madame Butterfly from the West, and Princess Changping and the Butterfly Lovers from the East, giving them a second chance to tell their stories of the perils of passion through laughter and tears. This lively song-and-dance comedy will give audiences a whole new take on sacrifices for love.

"Our Immortal Cantata" (in Cantonese) is one of the highlights of the New Vision Arts Festival (NVAF). It will be held at 8pm on October 25 and 4pm on October 26 at the Ko Shan Theatre New Wing Auditorium.

Tickets priced at $260, $180 and $130 are now available at URBTIX. Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 and above, people with disabilities and their minders, and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Other booking discounts of up to 20 per cent are available for full-price tickets of the NVAF performing arts programmes.

The NVAF, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, is running from October 16 to November 16 and showcasing an array of innovative and outstanding performances that cross cultural and disciplinary borders.
