The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the community thematic carnival "Jazz Up Stanley", featuring an outdoor jazz concert, at the Stanley Promenade Soccer Pitch this Sunday (October 19) from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
Various jazz bands and ensemble groups will perform music in different jazz styles including bossa nova, funk, swing and more. There will also be jazz music performed with African drums and Chinese instruments, in addition to flute and saxophone performances. Apart from presenting music performances, the concert will also feature energetic jazz dance to add colour to the event.
Performing groups at the carnival will include Aleatory Jazz Ensemble, m.a.R.K., SIU2, Oulamii Sooj African Drum & Dance Academy, Hi Tone, La Sax, the Hong Kong Flute Association, Goin' Music and the New Territories Dancing Group of Hong Kong.
