Police strongly condemn protestors at Lung Wo Road
**************************************************

Protestors currently gathering outside the Chief Executive¡¦s Office (CEO) blocked the carriageways of Lung Wo Road and in the vicinity; seriously affecting both east and west bound traffic of Hong Kong Island and paralylsing the traffic in the vicinity of Lung Wo Raod. The blockade affected the emergency service and the daily life of the members of the public which was irresponsible and unlawful.

The protestors also refused to let Police vehicles enter CEO to deliver food, water and medical supplies to Police officers on duty. This was unhumanitarian which was unacceptable to any places in the world.

Besides, the frontline Police officers need to rotate shifts regularly to continue the execution of their duties. However, the protestors blocked the movement of vehicles, impeding the smooth handover of the frontline officers which was also unacceptable.

Police have shown the greatest tolerance to the protestors gathering on Lung Wo Road. However, Police strongly condemned the blockade and obstruction caused by the protestors.

Police appeal to the protestors to cooperate with the Police officers. They should stop their irresponsible and unlawful behaviour and leave orderly and peacefully as soon as possible.
