Special traffic arrangements for public processions on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (September 27) and this Sunday (September 28) to facilitate two public processions to be held on Hong Kong Island.

     Public procession held on September 27 will depart Victoria Park for Legislative Council Complex. Sugar Street, Yee Wo Street, Westbound Hennessy Road, Queensway and Rodney Street will be intermittently closed from 2pm until the crowd is dispersed.

     Public procession held on September 28 will depart Chater House for the eastern and western pavements of Rodney Street and Harcourt Garden. The section of eastbound Queensway between Des Voeux Road Central and outside MTR Admiralty Station Exit C will be intermittently closed from 4pm until the crowd is dispersed. The fast lane of Garden Road flyover will also be intermittently closed if necessary.

     Vehicles in car parks along the procession routes may not be permitted to leave during the road closure period.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
