Hongkong Post announces Love Post Day
*************************************

Hongkong Post announced today (September 26) that October 9 has been designated as Love Post Day for the 11th year to spread the pleasure of letter-writing. This annual event is an initiative in support of World Post Day, which commemorates the establishment of the Universal Postal Union on October 9, 1874.

"The delight of receiving a letter from a loved one warms the heart. Letter mail allows you to relive that moment of delight every time you hold the letter in your hands," said the Postmaster General, Mrs Jessie Ting. "Hongkong Post will help you spread your personal messages of love to the ones you care for."

Hongkong Post invites everyone in Hong Kong to take part in Love Post Day on October 9 by sending a personal letter to a local recipient. People can simply deposit the letters in the specially marked collection boxes at all post offices (including mobile post offices) on October 9 and they will be delivered the next day, free of charge.

More information about Love Post Day can be obtained at any post office, the Hongkong Post website at www.hongkongpost.hk and the Hongkong Post hotline at 2921 2222.
