¡@¡@The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, visited North District today (August 28) to learn about the latest developments in the district and to meet with members of North District Council.
¡@¡@Accompanied by the Chairman of North District Council, Mr So Sai-chi, and the District Officer (North), Mr Yau Kin-chung, Mr Tang met with members to listen to their views on various developments in the district and other matters of concern at the district level.
¡@¡@Mr Tang then paid a visit to Ching Ho Estate, which is home to more than 20 000 residents, and took the opportunity to meet with a few residents there. He noted that great efforts had been made to create a quality living environment.
¡@¡@During the visit, Mr Tang overlooked the Cheung Lung Wai Estate, which was due for completion in early 2015, from the rooftop of a nearby building. He learnt that the Cheung Lung Wai Estate would consist of two domestic blocks providing about 1 300 public rental housing flats, plus a welfare retail block with the ground floor for retail shops and the first to third floors for welfare facilities. There would also be sun-shading architectural fins for some public rental housing flats, and solar photovoltaic (PV) panels for the roof of the domestic blocks.
¡@¡@Regarding the greening provision, besides the planters on the ground floor, there would be vertical greening to the entrance area of the welfare retail block and the ground floor area of the domestic blocks. Moreover, there would be greening with automatic irrigation system to the car-parking spaces, the covered walkway, the roof of the shops, the roof of the refuse collection point and the roof of the welfare retail block.
¡@¡@Before concluding his visit, Mr Tang said he greatly appreciated colleagues' efforts and encouraged them to continue providing quality, efficient and professional services to the public.
