*********************************************************

The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, departed for Guangzhou this morning (July 18) to attend the closing ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Cultural Exchange 2014 (the cultural tour).

Mr Tsang noted that this is the sixth consecutive year in which the three places have jointly organised the cultural exchange event, adding that the innovative itinerary of the annual cultural tour has set a good example for youth cultural exchange activities between the three places. He said that the cultural tour could promote friendship and exchange between the youths of the three places and broaden the horizons of the younger generation, which would help lay the foundation of the future development of arts and culture in the region.

The Home Affairs Bureau, the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province and the Tertiary Education Services Office of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government have jointly organised the annual Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Cultural Exchange since 2009. This year's cultural tour is being held from July 9 to 18, with 130 youths from the three places participating. They have visited Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong Province and Hunan Province and attended cultural exchange activities.

Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong this afternoon.
