Application for HOS flats in Tin Lee Court and Tin Chung Court to start on June 11
*********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) announced today (June 3) that eligible applicants may submit applications for the purchase of Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats in Tin Lee Court and Tin Chung Court from June 11 to 24.

By applying a discount of 30 per cent to the assessed market values, the prices of the 85 flats in Tin Lee Court in Tai O, Lantau Island, with saleable areas from 44.4 square metres to 45.1 sq m, range from $641,100 to $897,300. This reflects different attributes of individual flats including orientation, aspect and others. Previously named as Tin Lee House in Lung Tin Estate, Tin Lee Court was originally a public rental housing (PRH) block completed in 1995. Last year, the HA's Subsidised  Housing Committee endorsed conversion of the PRH block into an HOS block for sale with a view to better utilising public housing resources.

The selling price of the rescinded flat in Block L at Tin Chung Court in Tin Shui Wai, New Territories, with a saleable area of 60.4 sq m, is set at the same discount and is $1,934,300.

"Due regard has been given to the fact that the HOS flats in Tin Lee Court and Tin Chung Court were completed some years ago when fixing the price. We have also based the price on the established methodology and valuation principles and made reference to transactions of nearby residential properties in the open market for comparable private and HOS developments," a spokesman for the HA said.

"The application period will last from June 11 until 7pm on June 24. Applications submitted before the application period or after the closing time will not be accepted," the spokesman said.

"Balloting will be conducted in the latter half of July to determine the priority of flat selection. Flat selection will tentatively commence in late August and flat selection letters will be issued to applicants according to their priority number seven days before their appointed flat selection dates. They will be given the opportunity to view their selected flats prior to the signing of the Agreement for Sale and Purchase," he said.

Starting seven days before commencement of the application period, i.e. on June 4, the whole set of sales documents, including application forms and guides, sales brochures, price lists and sales arrangements can be obtained at the HOS Sales Unit at the HA Customer Service Centre (HACSC) in Lok Fu. Members of the public can also download the documents from the websites designated for Tin Lee Court (www.housingauthority.gov.hk/TinLee) and Tin Chung Court (www.housingauthority.gov.hk/TinChung).

In addition, during the application period between June 11 to 24, application forms and guides together with sales arrangements can also be obtained in the Estate Offices and District Tenancy Management Offices of the HA, Estate Offices of the Hong Kong Housing Society, the Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department and the Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre during office hours.

An information centre will be set up at the HACSC to provide information on the flats offered for sale through display panels and a photo depository for public viewing will run from June 4 till the end of the flat selection period. The opening hours of the information centre will be from 8am to 7pm, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

For enquiries on the sale exercise, starting from June 4, members of the public may visit the HACSC or call the HA 24-hour Sales Hotline on 2712 8000. (A service representative will answer calls on the hotline from 8.30am to 7pm every day.)
