Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session before the Executive Council meeting today (April 15):
Reporter: Some Legislative Council (LegCo) members may actually reject some offers, because some of them made clear that if the whole conversation cannot be recorded then they won't engage in any conversation at all.
Chief Executive: Well, I think it is useful to have a dialogue. Meetings like these, generally speaking, are not recorded. It is useful for all sides, including our LegCo members, to have face-to-face dialogue with officials of the Central Authorities to discuss matters of mutual interest, including, of course, the issue of directly electing or universal suffrage to elect the Chief Executive in 2017.
